In December 2013, International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) published a series of three books presenting climate change impact assessment studies for three regions of Africa:
- East Africa:
http://www.ifpri.org/publication/east-african-agriculture-and-climate-change-0 - Southern Africa:
http://www.ifpri.org/publication/southern-african-agriculture-and-climate-change - West Africa:
http://www.ifpri.org/publication/west-african-agriculture-and-climate-change
Each study used DSSAT to assess the potential impacts of climate change scenarios on crop growth and yields, which were used as an input to the IMPACT global food trade and food security model.
Findings from these studies aim to fill the information gap among national policymakers, who must plan for the future of agriculture in their countries without available information and analysis on the climate change scenarios. Each book provides country-wise analysis on the current condition, climate projections, and food security scenarios.
