The next edition of the International Crop Modelling Symposium (iCROPM2026) will be held in Florence, Italy, from February 2 to 4, 2026. Six years after the last symposium in Montpellier, France (iCROPM2020), international experts, researchers, agronomists, and policymakers will meet again to discuss the latest innovations and identify new challenges and opportunities in crop modelling to support agricultural production, food security, and sustainability under a changing climate.
All types of crops and cropping systems, i.e., arable, vegetables, fruits, grasslands, and intercrops, from all regions of the world will be considered, addressing both high- and low-input systems, from large agricultural enterprises to smallholder farmers.
Additional information about the iCROPM2026 event will be provided soon.
Presentations from the iCROPM2020 International Symposium were published in a special issue of The Journal of Agricultural Science Cambridge. The special issue includes an editorial entitled iCROPM 2020: Crop Modeling for the Future by Gerrit Hoogenboom, Eric Justes, Christophe Pradal, Marie Launay, Senthold Asseng, Frank Ewert and Pierre Martre (https://doi.org/10.1017/S0021859621000538) and a keynote paper entitled Grand challenges for the 21st century: what crop models can and can’t (yet) do by João Vasco Silva and Ken Giller (https://doi.org/10.1017/S0021859621000150).
