The largest crop modeling training workshop event of the year – the 2015 DSSAT Training Workshop was successfully held at the University of Georgia’s Griffin Campus during the week of May 18th.
Following successes in the previous workshops, the 3rd DSSAT Development Sprint Workshop 2015 will be held at the Maricopa Agricultural Center (MAC) of the University of Arizona (Google Maps) in June 15-19.
Five-day DSSAT training program was coordinated by the Learning Systems Unit (LSU) of the Knowledge Sharing and Innovation (KSI) at ICRISAT HQ in Hyderabad, India. Thirty participants of various disciplinary background from partner institutions in India and Africa attended the training program, held from 23rd to 27th March, 2015.
The 1st DC DSSAT User Group Meeting was successfully held at IFPRI on December 4th, 2014. About 30 participants shared their DSSAT stories and research/applications where DSSAT plays a key role.

Organized by AGRODEP, IFPRI, and DSSAT Foundation, a DSSAT Training Workshop was held in Dakar, Senegal, in April 2014. Thirteen AGRODEP members from seven countries were trained to learn the background and science of crop system modeling, preparing the model input data and understanding model outputs, and the operation of DSSAT v4.6 and its applications.
DSSAT Workshop in Thailand has been successfully held at the Chiang Mai University. Total of 19 participants representing 11 countries attended the workshop. The international participants were fully sponsored by the Thailand International Development Cooperation Agency (TICA).
With partial support of DFID/UKaid, ICRISAT/CCAFS, and CIMMYT/CSISA, AgMIP conducted a Multiple Cropmodel Training Workshop in India in March 2013 to train 48 participants to utilize multiple crop models and AgMIP software tools to conduct Regional Integrated Assessments of crop production and food security.
